In the past two articles, I wrote about how to keep your computer clean and the information safe, none of that is going to matter if you don’t wake up in time to use them. I received a tip on Twitter to remind all the students in the audience to wake up on time and go to class. This little guide will help you find the right alarm clock for you and give you a couple tips on which ones to use.
Thanks go out to @JessicaPribil who messaged me on Twitter with a tip about alarm clocks. She wanted to remind everyone that getting a good alarm clock and actually waking up when it goes off is important.
Lets break this down a little farther. First, don’t be afraid to spend a little bit of money on an alarm clock. Don’t get the $4 clock hoping that makes it through the night without dying or just not going off. Get a clock this is going to work and work well. If you are a heavy sleeper you might look into grabbing an extra loud alarm clock, so you don’t sleep through it. ThinkGeek also has a nice array of different clocks to help wake you up in the morning.
If you don’t want to spend the cash on an alarm clock, just use your computer. My favorite is the Naked Alarm Clock. No, not because it has a bunch of naked girls around the clock, because it doesn’t. It is just a wonderful alarm clock. It provides a wonderful interface with many different options. You can change the alarm time, the sound of the alarm, it even gives an easy button for set amounts of time, perfect for one click nap alarms.
Whether you’ve only had two hours of sleep or you’re breaking a world record, you have to wake up sometime. Try and make that sometime before your next class.
